Director of Outpatient Counseling

We are currently assisting a mental health/substance abuse provider in Portland, ME in their search for a Director of Outpatient Counseling Services.  Greater Portland, population about 200,000, has a thriving business community and lively arts scene alongside the historical seaport. Great schools, water views and no commuter gridlock are just a few of the things Portland has to offer.

 

The Director of Outpatient Counseling will provide administrative and clinical leadership and oversight of an outpatient clinic providing mental health and substance abuse services.  The Director will report to the VP of Program Services and have three Clinical Supervisors reporting directly, with a total of about 15 full and part-time clinicians providing services.  The Director will serve on the agency?s senior management team with other department heads providing program data on quality and planning.  The Director will be responsible for positive outcomes, compliance with contractual and regulatory standards and implementation of best practices for the Outpatient Counseling program.  The Director will also monitor the program budget, productivity and assist in agency-wide trainings and technology use.

 

Applicants must have a master?s degree and independent level of licensure, (and eligible to obtain license in Maine) in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.  In addition, 8 years post-master?s clinical experience is required, with at least 5 of those years being in a management role.  The successful candidate will be experienced with co-occurring treatment (mental health and substance abuse), knowledge of evidence-based practice, and have experience in a managed Medicaid system.

 

The agency is offering a salary of $60,000-$64,000 and an excellent benefit package.  Relocation assistance may be available.
