PORTALS, a nationally recognized, CARF accredited, non-profit mental health agency which provides community-based services through ?psychosocial rehabilitation clubhouse? model serving the severe, chronic mentally ill, dual-diagnosed, and homeless population has the following opening due to continued growth:
Director of Dual Diagnosis Residential Treatment and Housing
Director will oversee the administration and clinical operation of 3 residential facilities for dually-diagnosed adults ensuring compliance with all program standards, contracts, policies and procedures; provide leadership to staff and oversight of operations including case management services and budget development. As a key member of the management staff, the Director will be tasked with building program census, assist in the expansion, planning and development of the residential programs by proven success in writing proposals and grants. Qualified candidate will have: LCSW, LMFT or PhD and 5 years experience in mental health, Department of Mental Health (DMH) documentation knowledge, supervision of staff, experience in writing proposals and grants, knowledge of current research and best practice in drug & alcohol treatment and working with the homeless population required. Strong clinical background with the ability to identify, track and measure service outcomes.
Controller:
Controller/Director will provide fiscal analysis; direct the overall financial plans and accounting practices of the agency; oversee cash, accounting, budget, and audit activities of the agency; oversee financial and accounting system controls and standards. This key management position will deliver efficient and cost effective financial services to the agency that strealines Portals? operations while managing Accounting and MIS staff. A clear grasp of Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal and LA County Department of Mental Health systems would be ideal. BA in accounting, finance or directly related field is required, plus at least three years experience in a nonprofit or public health environment.
Grant Writer
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching grant and funding opportunities. This includes writing, editing and proofing proposals; compiling all requirements for submission and ensure grant deadlines, guidelines, format and design set by the funding agency are met. Assist in developing methods for ensuring compliance with grant requirements and evaluation of program outcomes. Qualified candidates will possess: Bachelors Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field and 3 years experience writing grants, and researching and evaluating grant funding resources is required. Candidate must be computer literate with excellent written and oral communication skills, strong research skills, be detail oriented and a self-starter. The ability to work under tight deadlines and on several projects simultaneously is also required. Non-profit, mental health experience would be a plus
Training Coordinator:The Training Coordinator will lead the way by implementing and coordinating comprehensive training
programs designed to develop our clinical, non-clinical and management staff training. Responsibilities include oversight to the
training initiative for our agency of 180 FTEs; managing a training budget; curriculum design, delivery, execution and evaluation of
current training programs. The Training Coordinator will also be asked to contribute to the enhancement of the Agency
performance improvement, process improvement and continuous quality improvement efforts. Qualified candidates will
possess: BA/MA in a relevant field. A background in mental health would be desirable as would 5+ years of experience as a
trainer and training manager for an organization. Please have experience in training needs assessment; curriculum development
and instruction design; training implementation and oversight as well as knowledge of performance and continuous quality
improvement. Must be able to demonstrate communication and/or presentation skills along with the ability to promote an
environment where quality, excellence and teamwork are cornerstones of the training foundation.
QA/Clinical Supervisor
Responsible for monitoring program charts to ensure effective documentation of excellent, medically necessary services and accurate billing, in compliance with all regulatory agencies? standards. Provide clinical supervision to license-waived staff preparing for professional licensure. Requires: LCSW, LMFT and 2 years experience working in mental health. Must have knowledge of DMH documentation & standards
Licensed Team Leaders (Supervisor):
Directly supervise a group of program staff in delivering services to members with psychiatric disabilities. Assists Center Director in the overall planning, directing, coordination of functions and in the daily operations of the program. Requires: LCSW, LMFT, MFT and 2 years of program supervisory experience.
Licensed Service Coordinators (Therapists & Bilingual Therapist):
Full-Time and Part-Time position available
Provides case management and mental health services for individuals with severe, chronic mental illness, coordinates services, provides individual and psycho educational group therapy, assists members to locate and utilize social, self-help, educational and vocational resources; address mental health issues; establish and maintain living arrangements; develop skills (coping, independent living); reach employment goals; integrate into the community; and engage in constructive activities. Will also complete Adult Initial Assessments. Requires: LCSW, LMFT, MFT ? I, License/Registered. Must have related experience.
Unlicensed Service Coordinators (Case Managers) Bilingual position available:
Responsible for providing case management and mental health services to individuals with mental illness, who are consumers of mental health services and to their families in accordance with the assessment and service plan(s). Requires: BA/BS in related field and 2 years of experience working in mental health.
