Service and Intake Coordinators

SpecialCare currently has a Service Coordinator, and Intake Coordinator positions open in the Ontario, OR area.  As a Service Coordinator you will administer and market the operations of The New Vision Program?.  You will also plan activities and initiate marketing contacts in the community to enhance the visibility of the Program. The Service Coordinator also ensures the appropriate clinical care of adult patients, i.e., assessments, admissions, referrals, and aftercare planning.  The Service Coordinator works collaboratively with hospital administrators and the nursing leadership team, as well as with the Corporate Director of Clinical Services for SpecialCare.  Other duties include: employee supervision, completing corporate reports, and other miscellaneous duties.

 

Qualified candidates must have an academic background and management experience relative to a healthcare setting.  The individual must possess team organization and community coordination skills and a working knowledge of the disease concept of chemical dependency and rehabilitation.  Academic education must consist of a minimum of a B.A. in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, and/or related field.  Additional qualifying factors are skills and experience in marketing, management, and public relations that will involve planned community education, as well as educational activities for professional groups.  Displayed computer skills and certification as a chemical dependency counselor are required.  Previous hospital background is a plus.

 

As an In-take Coordinator you will coordinate telephone inquires, screen potential adult patients for admission, initiate and conduct discharge planning, and assist the Service Coordinator.

 

Qualified candidates must have the minimum of an Associate?s degree, with a Baccalaureate (4 yr) degree preferred and or three (3) years of relevant experience with one (1) year in a hospital setting.  Previous in-take experience, of at least (1) year.  Certification as a chemical dependency counselor preferred.  Displayed computer skills required.  Knowledge of the CIWA, Narcotic Withdrawal Assessment, and Cocaine Toxicity Scale, and experience with telephone marketing desirable.
