The Kimmel Cancer Center's Clinical Science Division has an immediate need for a Social Worker. The primary responsibilities of this position include providing direct social work services to patients in an outpatient oncology setting. The selected candidate must coordinate the Buddy Program for newly diagnosed cancer patients and assist with the facilitation of support, education, and advocacy programs for cancer patients.

 

To qualify:Master's Degree in Social Work from a accredited school of Social Work and Pennsylvania Social Work licensure.  Three (3) years previous experience focused on oncology patients, their families and group facilitation preferred. Knowledge of psychosocial impact of cancer on patients and families.Knowledge of community and hospital-based resources for cancer patients.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of and experience in group processes.Ability to foster interdisciplinary teamwork.
