This Mission of Maryvale program is to help each child achieve fulfillment, dignity and self-esteem in an environment and love.


Maryvale was founded in 1856 as The Los Angeles Orphan Asylum. The original site was in Los Angeles at Macy and Alameda where Union Station now stands. Maryvale is situated on 14 park-like acres and provides a 24-hour residential treatment program with a professional staff of psychologist, social workers, recreational staff and residential counselors for 85 girls between the ages of 6-18. These children are referred by various placement agencies and come with psychiatric and behavioral disturbances related by histories of abuse, neglect and inadequate parenting. Maryvale is a level 12 (RCL-12) residential treatment facility for abused and traumatized girls. The Maryvale program consists of mental health/clinical services, an on-grounds special education school, recreational therapy, aftercare services and foster family program. In addition, Maryvale operates two Day Care Centers: Rosemead & Duarte and other community outreach programs.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Therapist will provide direct mental health services to Maryvale Residents and their families. These services can include, individual, conjoint, family and group modalities. Therapist will also be responsible for required case management and documentation services.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-2-5 years working with children
-Master degree required
