Wilderness Counselor

Beech Creek Outdoor Therapeutic Program is looking for dedicated counselors to work with adolescent girls in a residential wilderness setting. We are a unique mental health model for the treatment of adolescents with behavior problems. This program uses adventure therapy and group process to build self-esteem and change behaviors. Counselors work with our residents to facilitate backpacking, canoeing, climbing, and caving trips. We also use group projects, challenge courses, and daily activities to improve social skills with peer and family interactions. Our counselors work rotating shifts with a group of 10-12 girls. Our goal is to return a resident to their family upon successful completion of our program.
