Youth Counselor

The Pines Residential Treatment Facilities seeks professionals dedicated to helping children and adolescents overcome a variety of difficulties in a therapeutic, safe and structured environment. We offer several distinct residential programs for youth ages 11 to 21 and have emerged as one of the largest and strongest treatment organizations for behaviorally disordered youth and sex offenders.

DESCRIPTION



As a Youth Counselor, you will work closely with the children and adolescents assigned to a unit to learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors. Counselors implement appropriate activities, approaches and related psychiatric interventions in collaboration with an interdisciplinary clinical team. Other duties include performing technical/patient care duties for children and adolescents while maintaining a professional therapeutic relationship. Assures patient participation in program activities, and assist in maintenance of patient health, safety and a clean therapeutic environment. REQUIREMENTS



Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Education, Social Services or related human services field. May substitute five years of related experience with at-risk youth in lieu of undergraduate degree. Experience working with MR/DD, sexually reactive or emotionally disturbed children and/or adults a plus.
