Community Resources Coordinator

Erickson Retirement Communities, one of the nation's fastest growing managers of continuing care retirement communities (CCRC), has an opportunity for a Community Resources Coordinator at Greenspring located in Springfield, VA.  This individual will need to be a high energy, creative person with good interpersonal skills.  Ability to work with staff as well as residents in a cooperative manner. Ability to handle diverse jobs under continually changing conditions and frequent interruptions.  Excellent listening and communication skills.  Computer literacy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Partners with residents to develop activities within the community as well as outside.
2.Collaborates with Catering Manager and/or other pertinent departments to coordinate room usage for activities/events.
3.Distributes monthly calendars (i.e. activities/events listings) to residents and relevant staff as needed.
4.Assists Marketing department with luncheons, tours and other promotional programs.
5.Facilitates and maintains communication regarding activities/events among residents as well as various staff (i.e. Wellness, Channel 6, Dining Services, General Services, Marketing).
6.Monitors bulletin boards, display cases, and activity rooms in community buildings.
7.Assists in development, coordination and ongoing review of departmental policies and procedures.
8.Attends monthly department meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
9.Creates flyers for events, writes articles for community bulletins/newspapers, and provides clerical support, as necessary.
10.Makes resident referrals to appropriate departments, as necessary.
11.Builds strong positive relationships with residents and staff.
12.Continues to enhance skills through ongoing education (i.e. in-service, leadership training).
13.May be responsible for publishing resident handbook supplement listing of all events, clubs and activities available in the community.
14.Maintains community philosophy and vision.
15.Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
College degree in related field preferred.  Minimum of 3 years service related experience (i.e. volunteer and/or public service experience).  Experience with the senior population a plus.
