Courier - Skagit

POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains a regular route to healthcare facilities (hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, physicians? offices, etc.), delivering reports and supplies.  Maintain the highest possible professional standards in customer service to all Dynacare and LabCorp clients.  Collects specimens or non- medical materials for transportation, and maintains a tight schedule.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 
Transports specimens and supplies to and from laboratory, clinics, physicians? offices etc. in a timely manner.
Collects reports in laboratory for delivery to clients on route.

 

SECONDARY JOB- SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:

 
Checks dispatch and storeroom for client supplies.
Checks with Client Services for updated client requests.
Keeps paperwork and specimens organized in order to facilitate a smooth workflow in the laboratory.
Responsible for occasional route coverage due to sickness or absence of other Couriers.
Immediately reports any missed pickups or problems during route to immediate supervisor.
Assists in distribution of reports.

?  Suggests changes to supervisor or appropriate staff members to improve customer service.

?  Responds to requests for information, care or service in a timely and polite manner.

?  Works with others in a respectful, cooperative manner.

?  Exhibits warmth, courtesy, and professionalism.

?  Represents Dynacare and LabCorp positively in each communication with patients, families, physicians, other employees and contacts outside the laboratory.

?  Wears proper identification badge at all times.

?  Communicates changes in schedules. 

?  Informs immediate supervisor of request that cannot be handled in a timely manner.

?  Informs appropriate staff of any accidents and/ or injuries immediately in written form.

?  Cooperates with other in institution-wide programs and projects as assign4ed through attendance, completion of tasks, and adoption of policies.

?  Maintains personal behavior to be consistent with clean, quite, respectful environment for customers, patients, families, co-workers and any other contacts.

?  Limits eating and smoking to designated areas and to approved times.

?  Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee and Laboratory information at all times.

?  Refrains from any discussion of patient information outside the Laboratory.

?  Follows work attendance policies; maintains consistent attendance with no unscheduled absences.  Arrives to work on time, demonstrates flexibility in accepting assignments.

?  Adheres to dress code.

?  Maintains a safe, neat work area.

?  Competes all mandatory in-services as required in a  timely manner.

?   

 

REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent.  Valid Washington Sate3 drivers? license with good driving record and familiarity with great Puget Sound area required.  Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with medical and laboratory personnel.  Previous courier or customer service experience is preferred.
