Eligibility Worker/Medi-Cal Screener (P/T and F/T)

We have openings for a Part Time Eligibility Worker at our West Hollywood client location, which is a hospital facility. 

 

Health Advocates is based in Sherman Oaks, California. Our emphasis is in assisting hospitalized patients to qualify for Medi-Cal and other health insurance benefits, asserting Third Party Liens in Workers? Compensation cases and Private Insurance on behalf of hospitals. 

 

Responsibilities include screening hospitalized  patients to determine linkage to Medi-Cal and/or other health related benefits.

 

The ideal candidates will possess:One year of health, medical, or clerical background in a professional setting Excellent customer service skills, friendly, outgoing & helpful Good oral and written communication skills Bi- lingual English / Spanish is a MUST (most of the patients only speak Spanish)High school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred. At least one year work experience in hospital/medical setting or customer service Computer literate (typing/data entry) Strong organizational skills, detail- oriented, excellent phone manner, great follow through, and service oriented Strong work ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
