JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst I prepares management reports, budgets, forecasts and financial analyses in support of the strategic needs of senior management, finance, medical management, provider network management, sales and product development.
?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Analyzes past performance and trends, and relates to expected future performance. Develops and coordinates forecasting of health care costs.Refines financial models.Evaluates and recommends improvements to contract reimbursement management, utilization reporting, network reporting, and employer reporting.Prepares budgets and forecasts, including supporting schedules and other materials.Analyzes drivers of health care trends.Develops standard and ad hoc analytical, financial and operational reports.Assists management in meeting day-to-day financial reporting and maintenance requirements.May analyze income statement and balance sheet variances or fluctuations, cash flows, investment decisions and process improvements.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Economics or Finance or a related field required.

Certification/License:
?
Experience:Minimum two years financial analysis or accounting experience, preferably in the health care industry required. HMO or insurance company accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must be detail-oriented, have strong analytical skills and have the ability to work under strict time deadlines. Skills in using advanced features of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, or similar tool. Experience extracting and manipulating large data sets. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and perform with little guidance. Ability to create and deliver effective presentations. Strong oral and written communication skills.
