Insurance Verifier - Frisco, Tx

Tenet is currently seeking an Insurance Verifier to perform financial clearance activities in the Center for Patient Access Services (CPAS) located in Frisco, TX.  This function will be responsible for financially clearing Patients prior to their hospital visit.  Includes communication with patients and insurance companies for the purpose of collecting information necessary to clear patients.  Financial clearance activities are defined as verification of insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining referrals and authorizations, completing payor notifications and checking for medical necessity.  Duties will include, but not limited to the following:Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits using technology tools, the telephone and the internet Coordinates with insurance providers and departments to obtain referrals and pre-authorizations.  Documents these findings into the appropriate system(s) Verifies medical necessity and coordinateswith Clinicians to obtain updated information Handles Payor notifications Coordinates and communicates with other departments and Physicians to facilitate the financial clearance process. Works closely with Financial Counseling to assist in the identification and collection of Patient liabilities Communicates with Patients to obtain any missing information necessary to achieve financial clearance Coordinate efforts with other CPAS Department staff in an effort to support financial clearance activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma with at least 1 year of clerical or related healthcare experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPrior Experience in Insurance Verification Proficient in the use of general office equipment (fax, copier and computers)Proficient data entry and typing skills (30 WPM minimum)Exceptional problem solving and analytical abilitiesEffective communicator - able to converse in a professional and intelligible manner regarding Patient Access businessAbility to work within a team setting and be supportive of team membersAbility to work successfully in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptionsPrefer applicants familiar with California Insurance laws and practices Prefer applicants fluent in Vietnamese
