Office Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomist

This is a opportunity to join a successful internal medicine/ infectious disease medical practice as an office assistant and phlebotomist. The practice is supervised by a physician, who works with a nurse practitioner.

 

The practice serves approximately 4000 patients. Of these, about 600 are HIV+.

 

 The candidate for this position should have training and certification in phlebotomy, the taking of blood pressures and other vital signs, and will be expected to help process lab specimens in preparation for their send-off to commercial laboratories. Furthermore, this position will require assisting the secretary with telephone work, making appointments, and obtaining approvals from insurance carriers for patient procedures. The office is fully computerized; a working knowledge of basic computer use is required.

 

The qualities being sought include good people and communication skills, a calm and upbeat personality, and the ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.

 

  The hours would be Mondays through Fridays, approximately 9-5PM.
