Job Description:

1. Assist Orthopaedic Surgeons in setting non-specialized traction apparatuses, and applying patient casts 2. Responsible for performing duties as first assistant to the orthopaedic surgeons in the operating room

3. Assist surgeons with all aspects of orthopaedic patient care during office hours

Splinting and casting in clinical setting; orthotic applications; woundcare

4. Teach casting seminars when needed

5. Incumbents of this position must exhibit competency in working with patients of various age groups treated/service

 

Job Requirements:



3-5 years experience as an Orthopaedic technician. 

Experience in cast application and traction technique very helpful.

Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Ability to interpret Orthopaedic x-rays helpful. Ability to communicate with the patient for education and emotional purposes

 

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma

 

License/Certification Requirements:

Certificate or eligible ? National Association of Orthopaedic Technicians

 

Additional Details:

Will require traveling between four East side offices, as needed.
