POD Supervisor
POD Supervisor needed to train, supervise and perform point of service scheduling and registration, collection of time of service payments and referrals, batch reconciliation and daily closing process; ensures patient access, customer service, appropriate IDX utilization and effective cash controls at the POD areas of the Ambulatory Care Center; collaboratively works with IS personnel, Master Schedulers, Clinic Managers, Reimbursement Specialists, Managed Care, and Business Office departments to create efficient, customer service oriented business processes.
1. Plans, organizes, schedules and coordinates the daily activities of employees engaged in the POD functions of the Ambulatory Care Center
2. Utilizes the IDX MFR Report to verify all patient appointments reflect appropriate status (i.e. Arrived)
3. Utilizes the IDX Missing Charge Report to verify that all encounter forms for arrived patients have been received and are batched for charge entry
4. Utilizes reports to manage and resolve TES and Claim edits and Electronic Payer rejections
5. Work collaboratively with the Business Office to monitor and resolve Third Party Payer rejections
6. Ensures and promotes compliance with all departmental and MFA policies
7. Recommends modifications to provider practice profiles, as needed
8. Responsible for the coordination and/or provision of initial and ongoing technical, operational and customer service training of POD staff
9. Prepares and analyzes reports needed for departments and MFA Administration
10. Reviews and checks batch totals; supervises daily batch balance and closing processes; submits daily cash deposits, receipts and batch control forms to cashier
11. Works collaboratively with members and staff across service lines
12. Demonstrates an awareness and sensitivity towards patient/family rights
Required Skills:
Education A Bachelor"&tm;s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary.
Experience: Four years of billing and scheduling experience in a patient care setting, to include customer service and supervisory/lead work experience is necessary. Experience utilizing a computerized sceduling system is required. IDX appointment scheduling, encounter form generator, registration, BAR, and Open Referral experience are highly preferred. Minimum typing skill of 30 WPM is required.
