Registration Host (4290)

Job Description: Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Registration Host to join our team in St. Louis, MO.

Job Responsibilities:

Greets all patients in pleasant, cheerful manner and completes arrival and registration process.

Conducts patient/guarantor interviews, explains hospital policies, financial responsibilities, privacy practices and patient bill of rights.

Ensures that pre-certification and/or authorization are obtained and co-payments collected.

Interviews patient and obtains complete and accurate demographic and financial information. Includes: greeting and registering patients per established department procedures

Enters data in computer and thoroughly documents any incomplete admissions/registrations in manner prescribed. Must have less than a 3% error rate.

Directs and maintains the cleanliness and pleasant appearance of the lounge and lobby areas 100% of the time per established protocol

Follows established department procedure to transport or arrange for transportation of the patient to appropriate service area or room in an accurate timely manner.

Answers all telephone calls by the 3rd ring, kindly and professionally, identifying oneself by name and department. Provides assistance to the caller 100% of the time. Maintains working knowledge of all telephone features.

Processes all service orders in the computer system with all pertinent information including diagnosis with a written request in a timely and accurate manner.

Manages the overall flow of guests per established department procedures 100% of the time.

Exhibits behavior that demonstrates respect for a patient's right to privacy and confidentiality

Follows established department procedure for attendance and availability

Required Skills:

Previous customer service experience

Good communication skills

Computer keyboarding and data entry experience (97% accuracy required)

Desired Skills:

1-2 years previous healthcare environment experience

Minimum Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
