Security Technical Writer

Providence Health & Services is recruiting for the position of Security Technical Writer (full-time, Exempt) located in Seattle, Washington. This is a new position reporting to the System Director, Security Service Delivery, OCSO.? This position will work with other OCSO staff, product designers, developers, testers, and project managers to create, edit and update new and existing technical documentation.

The Security Technical Writer is responsible for writing and editing technical reports and/or manuals for internal documentation, customer reference, or publication to the staff at large for awareness or instructional purposes.? Primary responsibilities include creating and maintaining a technical glossary, corporate policies, standards, guidelines, processes and procedures. The Security Technical Writer will also coordinate production and distribution of materials, and have the ability to research and analyze available literature and verify copy with appropriate departments.

Required Skills:
Minimum requirements for consideration include the equivalent of a Bachelor?s Degree in Journalism, Communications or Computer Science; or the equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as four years of technical writing experience in a Security or Information Services environment. ?Demonstrated knowledge of standard technical documentation and web authorizing tools and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF creation) preferred.
