SCOPE

 

Surgical Technician assists the doctor with surgical procedures in the operating room.  Prepares instruments, equipment and medicine for the doctor.  Prepare patients for surgery, complete needed paperwork and obtain required clearances and fill out prescriptions for patients.

 

DUTIESMaintain the proper patient flow. Clean operating room after surgery. Clean and sterilize instruments, Order needed medical supplies. Communicate with patients the requirement for pre-operation and post-operation.   Observe and maintain compliance with all OSHA Guidelines including hazard communication, MSDS, and PPE requirements. Any other duties the Office Manager may assign.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESCompletion in Surgical Technology or experience preferred. CPR and AED certified. Ability to inter-relate with doctors and patients, making patients feel comfortable.
