 JOB SUMMARY

 

The Claims Trainer will analyze, design and develop end-to-end claims training programs for the claims business unit. Each training program includes a strategy and approach document, a detailed training plan, development of curriculum (both original materials and materials leveraged from previous trainings), training delivery, and evaluation.

 

The Claims Trainer will employ multiple delivery methods, including instructor-led training, self-study, distance learning, demonstrations, lectures, and/or computer-based training. The Claims Trainer will work closely with the Manager of Claims to create meaningful and successful claims training programs based on the needs of the audience. The Claims Trainer will also assist in monitoring and determining the quality and effectiveness of claims end-to-end training programs.

 RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop claims training curriculum using basic Microsoft applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Conduct needs assessments to aid in role-specific claims curriculum development and training deliveryDevelop training strategy and approach and training plan for each claims projectEmploy distance learning techniques in curriculum design and developmentSelf-studyNetMeeting / WebExInternet/IntranetActivity based curriculumsComputer-Based TrainingE-LearningConduct training sessions for all claims internal audiences, both in-classroom and distance learningProvide training mentoring/coaching to all claims associatesConduct training quality assurance audit of all new hire claims associatesKeep informed on new developments, methods and techniques in the training fieldRespond to internal customer quality assurance concerns/issues regarding claims trainingParticipate in claims system testing as neededOther duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

? BA/BS (or equivalent) and at least 2-5 years of related experience in a claims training role, developing and delivering technical content

? Curriculum design, development and delivery of training projects using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

? Effective communication, presentation, writing, organizational and technical skills

? Ability to manage changing priorities and remain focused, motivated and enthusiastic

? Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills

? Demonstrated experience in assessing user requirements and translating them into effective training programs

? Ability to work in both a team environment and autonomously on projects

? Flexibility to travel and deliver off-site training programs as needed

 Additional Skills (Preferred)

 

?   Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles

? Proficient with NetMeeting and WebEx applications

? Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities

? Proven capability to take a claims training project from start to finish

? Experience in E-Learning and Computer Based Training

? ASTD Membership, Training Certification preferred
