Due to outstanding growth and continued success, Hoveround is looking for an individual to join our team of professionals as a Welder.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs various kinds of welding, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job and plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.

2.  Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals.  Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.

3.  Cleans and prepares surface to be welded.

4.  Sets up, assembles and tacks weld parts.

5.  Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.

6.  Required to wear OSHA approved safety footwear.

7.  Other duties as assigned by department supervisor

8.  Works a 40 hour work week.



 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements

1.  High School or GED

2.  4+ years prior welding experience

  3. Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.

  4. Good knowledge of Heliarc and Mig/Tig welding experience 

  5. Completion of formal apprenticeship program

 

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits, uses hand to finger, handle or feel objects, reaches with hand and arms, climbs stairs, stands; walks; talks. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to occasionally lift 65 pounds and wear a back support if needed.  Required to wear safety goggles and earplugs if necessary.
