One full-time day shift position with benefits starting on the date of hire.
Duties and responsibilities: The Ergonomic Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, oversight and evaluation of the Medical Center Ergonomic program. Program elements include ergonomic assessment (pre- and post- injury), intervention, and education. The Ergonomic Specialist performs complex and specialized preventative work site evaluations; develops and presents educational programs for managers, supervisors and staff; and establishes a train-the-trainer program for department level ergonomic evaluations. Conducts incident investigations to identify root causes, develops proactive training programs to prevent reoccurrence and prepares management presentations.
Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in physical therapy, nursing, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, occupational therapy, or related field and a minimum of four (4) years experience in ergonomics required. Must demonstrate knowledge in work site evaluations, ability to develop and conduct training programs in a healthcare setting. Experience in ergonomics and complex work site evaluations (i.e. inpatient nursing, laboratories). Proven ability to work with spreadsheets, word-processing, database management systems, E-mail (Outlook), and Power Point. Excellent written and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with individuals in various occupations, at all levels of the organization.
Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
