We are looking for an individual with experience with various age groups and activity levels to develop and restore optimal physical function.


Working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the LPTA performs tasks and procedures focusing on activities to develop and restore function including but not limited to: assisting with transfers; determining, resourcing and fitting equipment needs; ordering and/or locating supplies for patient needs; maintaining patient records. Contacts physician and/or therapist as needed. Teaches and instructs patients, family and caregivers in functional tasks. Documents patient records.

 

Professional Qualifications:Graduate of a physical therapy assistant training program approved by the Committee on Accreditation in Education of the American Physical Therapy Association and has a valid license from the state of Oregon to practice physical therapy. Requires self-direction and the ability to exercise judgment in prioritizing, accuracy and promptness in completion of tasks. Demonstrates dedication to good interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and patients. Ability to work tactfully and effectively with physicians, nurses and other hospital employees.  Ability to interact professional and compassionately with patients and their families. Ability to set priorities and maintain a calm demeanor while working in a fast-paced atmosphere of conflicting demands.  Able to perform minimum to heavy physical work occasionally. Required to be competent with transfers of 75 pounds and lift 50 pounds unaided using appropriate body mechanics.
