Physical Therapist (PT)

 

A Licensed Physical Therapist to provide professional patient care with a hands-on component expertise in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, family practice, pediatrics, geriatrics, rheumatology, internal medicine, urology, cardiovascular medicine, cardiopulmonary medicine, psychiatry, or sports medicine.

Bachelor?s Degree is required from an accredited college or university in Physical Therapy. Experience desirable but not required

Improve a client's movement and musculoskeletal function

 

JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Plan, implement and evaluate patient care programs through the use of selected physical therapy procedures and tests; direct and aid patients in therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education and functional training.

Administer selected muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests to assist physicians and other health personnel in determining diagnosis, prognosis and patient progress; consult with physicians in developing individual therapy plans designed to assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels.

Participate in ward rounds, clinics, conferences, consultations and educational programs designed to increase knowledge and to improve patient care and staff performance.

Coordinate physical therapy activities with other services, agencies and personnel involved in patient care management.

Explain therapeutic plans and procedures to patients to allay fears and to obtain cooperation in gaining the maximum benefit from therapy; plan post-discharge follow-up and home referrals for patients.

Maintain records and files reflecting up-to-date patient progress, care plans and related statistical data as required by departmental and University policies.

Provide direction and assistance to instruct, supervise and coordinate the individual assignments of physical therapy assistants and aides; participate in training and educating physical therapy staff, students and allied health personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
