Respiratory Therapist - DME Set-Up Specialist

Phoenix Sleep is a leading provider of high-quality sleep diagnostic studies in the Southwest.  We offer a full range of services including physician consultation, sleep evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow up care.

 

We have an opening for a  daytime Respiratory Therapist to provide nPAP set ups on patients who have completed their sleep studies and have been prescribed nPAP therapy.  The therapist will meet the patient in a sleep lab location convenient to the patient.  The therapist is also responsible for on-going follow-up with the patient to insure patient compliance.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Perform patient nPAP set-ups in the sleep lab setting. To include; patient education in the use and care of prescribed equipment, mask fitting and nPAP acclimation.

2. Inventory and order all nPAP equipment and supplies per company protocols.

3. Read and evaluate physicians' orders and patient?s chart information to determine patients' condition and treatment protocols.

4. Document and maintain records of patients' therapy and compliance outcomes. 

5. Perform follow up procedures to determine efficacy of patient compliance while on therapy per protocols.

6. Clean, sterilize, check and maintain all nPAP equipment and accessories.

7. Ability to travel to several locations throughout the valley to perform nPAP set ups.

8. Assist in resolving patient equipment problems.

9. Clear compassionate communication with patients.

10. Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions.

11. Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education required/ preferred:

Completion of a respiratory therapy care program.  Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care.

 

 

Experience:

Three years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience in either Respiratory Therapy and/or Polysomnography.

 

Certification:

Respiratory Therapy ? registered or certified

CPR ? cardiopulmonary resuscitation

 

Licensure:

 

Current valid driver?s license.  Must show proof of vehicle insurance.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Organized, self-motivated, effective oral and written communication skills, appropriate social skills, computer literate.  CPAP/Bi-Level patient administration and appropriate mask fitting.
