Celebrating six decades of Making Cancer History, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is located in Houston on the sprawling campus of the Texas Medical Center. SUMMARY
Function: Provides direct professional Physical Therapy services for hospital and clinic patients. Serves as a resource for new staff and students.
Scope: Impacts patient treatment and recovery. Impacts the development of junior staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
' Performs and documents Physical Therapy evaluation and treatment strategies according to department standards, integrating current professional practice standards, diagnostic, and age specific criteria for ages toddler through elderly.
' Assists with orientation of new employees and volunteers.
' Participates in student education.
' Contributes to performance improvement/quality management tasks.
' Must perform 3 out of the 5 following job functions:
' Contributes to staff development or community education, presenting at least 2 educational in-services per year or 2 community educational programs/presentations per year.
' Actively participates in professional organization.
' Participates in the cross training program, demonstrating competencies in at least 2 different services or attains a specialty certification (i.e.: lymphedema, NDT, pediatric).
' Attends at least 12 continuing education in-services a year (i.e.: CEU courses, TPTA meetings, staff in-services, grand rounds, student, etc.).
' Exceeds the department productivity standard by maintaining an average of 60% productivity for the year

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS:
' Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited physical therapy program
Preferred: Master's degree

EXPERIENCE/ LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Required: Licensed as a PT by TBPTE. Two years of experience.
Preferred: Experience as a physical therapist at a comprehensive cancer center or on an oncology unit.
