Director, Market Planning

Princess Cruises, a pioneer and leader in the cruise industry, has an immediate opening for a Director, Market Planning in our corporate headquarters, located in Santa Clarita, CA.

 

The qualified candidate will be responsible for the overall direction of projects relating to market planning including strategic pricing, deployment and itinerary development, as well as consumer and travel agent programs.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

 Provides data-driven analysis and recommendations to senior management on the development of competitive pricing, marketing and sales programs to meet the company's objectives for growth and profitability.  Directs the long-range market planning and market development programs. Applies knowledge of market analysis, market planning and development to meet the company?s long-range goals and objectives.  Conducts continuing assessments of product performance compared to corporate objectives.Works with the Marketing Communications and Sales department to develop new communication initiatives, as well as to ensure that consumer and travel agent programs and collateral communicate the agreed messages effectively.Manages the preparation of competitive analysis and management reports.  Reports on company product performance and advises management on market trends.Prepares program releases and liaises with Technical and Marine departments in order to assess itinerary proposals and changes to published programs. Responsible for the supervision, performance management, salary administration, discipline, and training of directly assigned personnel.

 

 

Requirements:

 

? Bachelor?s degree; MBA preferred.

? A minimum of 10 years work experience in progressively responsible positions, including 5 years in a management position involving market planning or business strategy and development.

? Experience as a planning or strategy executive advising on issues relating to competitive positioning and business trends.

? Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with a strong working knowledge of Excel.

? Ability to manage multiple projects, assign responsibilities, allocate resources and direct corrective action.

? High level of attention to detail and demonstrated excellence in communication skills for negotiating, presenting and resolving complex and controversial issues and responding effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
