Front Desk Clerk

Located in an exciting area in Lincoln Park, the staff at the Days Inn Lincoln Park - North is one big family. Most employees have been here for a long time. A high level of customer service and cleanliness have earned us numerous awards. The hotel is extremely busy with a current year to date occupancy of 82%.

 

The front desk staff is extremely professional, friendly and helpful and accustomed to dealing with many different guests - from business people to leisure travelers, families, bands, artists, hospital patients and their families, Cubs and other sports fans,...

 

As the hotel is so busy and we unfortunately just lost a team member, we are looking to add about two clerks to the front desk staff. Listed below are specific duties of a front desk clerk: 

 Recognizes and greets the guests. Responds appropriately to information requests and complaints. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms, advance reservations, specified ccompany marketing programs. Operates the front desk office equipment such as switchboard, cash register, calculator, reservation computer, copier, fax machine, etc. Checks in guests, and makes courtesy calls. Processes and controls room reservations. Collects revenues from room rentals, other purchases. Provides security for guests and the property by controlling room keys, verifying cash banks, making safe drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card verification procedures and reporting suspicious activity by guests or others. Completes paperwork necessary for front desk operation (registration folios, credit card vouchers, cashier reports, room reports, pre-paid reservation log, etc.). Performs tasks assigned by property management ( train other employees, work on mailings and similar marketing tasks, insure cleanliness of front desk and front desk storage as well as insuring items for front desk operations are stocked, etc.). Basic concierge duties include giving directions and recommending restaurants, shopping and other things to do. Other tasks may be assigned by the front desk manager.

 

There is a sell-out bonus program in place that tremendously enhances the clerks' wages. The hotel offers full benefits and a 401K plan. Days Inn employees may stay at other hotels within the brand at a 50% discount (based on availability).
