ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

?The ability to implement and enforce departmental service standards for Front Desk and PBX.
?The ability to interact with Housekeeping to coordinate room projects.
?The ability to coordinate with Guest Services to ensure smooth arrival and departure for guests.
?The ability to coordinate with Reservations to ensure smooth arrival for guests.
?The ability to monitor and correct employee time and attendance records.
?The ability to attend schedule meetings and pass information along to staff.
?The ability to hold regular departmental staff meetings.
?The ability to schedule the Front Office staff to provide maximum service to the guests within budgeted guidelines.
?The ability to train Front Office and PBX staff and supervise them in the performance of their duties.
?The ability to conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary employees in a timely manner when necessary.
?The ability to communicate closely with the Night Manager, PBX Manager, and Front Office Assistant Managers to ensure follow-up on any special problems, guest requests, etc.
?The ability to review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of VIPs and Return Guests, groups, etc., and to escort VIPs and Return Guests to their rooms.
?The ability to control room rate availability on full-house nights to maximize occupancy and revenue and protect guaranteed reservations.
?The ability to handle relocation of guests according to established procedures.
?The ability to maintain close contact with other hotels with regard to their status on full-house nights.
?The ability to ensure adherence to all credit procedures in the Front Office; review high-balance report and follow up on credit problems with Credit Manager and Controller.
?The ability to review all paid outs, rebates, petty cash disbursements, direct billings.
?The ability to check cashiers? work at close of shift to ensure that all transactions are reconciled with proper approvals.
?The ability to inspect guest rooms and tour the Resort during each shift, completing maintenance requests as needed.
?The ability to complete evening Housekeeping report and follow-up on discrepancies as needed
?The ability to assist other departments as required in resolving problems
?The ability to handle guest problems and complaints, keeping Rooms Division Manager well informed of action taken.
?The ability to act in the absence of the Executive Committee in all matters concerning the safety, security, and well-being of hotel guest, patrons, and employees.
?The ability to utilize the computer systems n house as well as the telephone switchboard.
?The ability to coordinate arrivals, departures, and billing requirements for groups with sales and catering managers.
?The ability to ensure room discrepancies are resolved.
?The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent.
Two years of college preferred.
Two years experience in front desk or reservations.
One year supervisory experience
Computer proficiency.
Advanced knowledge of Front Office computer systems including the ability to solve basic system related problems.
