GENERAL MANAGER-River Terrace

Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals.

 

Coordinates activities of departments in all aspects of operations including front desk, engineering, housekeeping, warehouse/purchasing, sales, to effect operational efficiency and economy.

 

Directs and coordinates services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.

 

Analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget. Manages all sources of revenue to include rooms, food and beverage, telephone and others.  Ensures all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships.

 

Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.  Responds quickly to changing market conditions and revises strategies accordingly.

 

Actively participates in sales discussions, meetings and plans.

 

Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.

 





Manages employee relation functions of the resort by controlling turnover, motivating employees, focusing on employee development and retention and conducting regular employee meetings.

 

Protects the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.

 

Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.  Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

 

Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

 

Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.

 

Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage and Hour and Health laws.

 

Promotes organization in industry or trade associations.
