BASIC FUNCTION: The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible to oversee the day-to-day operation of the housekeeping department in order to maintain the standards of service and cleanliness. To administer the supervision of the housekeeping and laundry staff under the guidance of the Executive Housekeeping.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inspects and updates status of all rooms and areas assigned.
Turns in ready rooms to computer as soon as they become available. Turns in discrepancies with front desk daily before the end of shift.
Turns in maintenance requests daily.
Follows up on Room Attendant and Houseperson assignments daily.
Trains and follows up on Room Attendants and Housepersons.
Maintains cleanliness and orderly conduct on floors.
Perform operations of laundry procedure, equipment, and machine operations to ensure efficient operation of laundry department.
Provides visibility and assistance to guests.
Assists in maintaining supply inventories.
Recommends changes in operating procedures of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. May require typing, record keeping, or word processing. This position requires a minimum formal education of some high school and one year of housekeeping and laundry experience. Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written. Should have knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals and be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends.
