Italy Product Manager

Job Summary:

The individual in this position works to achieve maximum profitable sales volume within all the Italy products on the Club ABC side.  This individual will work closely with the Italy Product Director and assist the operations team to achieve the established goals for the product and support the team on all the day-to-day matters.

The incumbent will work with the Product Director to create product within the required specifications and profitability goals.  In addition, the incumbent will work to build extended relationships with vendors and internal teams in order to achieve optimum relationships.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

1.  Develop Product and along with Italy Product Director present to co president for approval.

2.  Accompany Italy Product Director on business trips in order to develop vendor and supplier relationships.

3. Negotiate and establish contracts and space (as needed) with suppliers. 

4. Create Excel pricing sheets for all approved itineraries and submit to the Marketing and Operations Teams as per the Company?s marketing schedule.

5. Perform market Analysis to assure our prices are competitive, and/or our product unique.

6. Submit product and detailed itinerary information to:

a. Brochure production

b. Operations

c. Accounting

d. Copywriter for Day by Day/Pitch sheet documents.

7.  Review brochure copy, website, reservation system, and Day by Day/Pitch sheets for quality control.

8.  Conduct Product briefings for staff on new programs as needed.  In addition, negotiate w/ hotels and airlines for annual allotments for employee fam trips.

9.  Assist the Operations Manager in obtaining additional allotments as needed and resolving major problems due to variety of circumstances.

10.  Review member feedback and implement changes to product as necessary.

Work with ABC Destinations management to channel Italy product within other entities, such as, ABC Destinations and Eurofly

 

Job Qualifications/Education and Knowledge:

1.  At least 5 to 10 years of product development experience and familiarity with hotel operations in Italy.

2.  Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience in travel operations in the country of Italy.

3.  Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively in order to negotiate contracts and costs with vendors.

4.  Superior negotiation skills required in order to effectively work with vendors to obtain the agreed upon product price.

5.  Ability to speak, write, and read Italian fluently.

6.  Ability to travel significantly as needed.

7.  Strong pc skills, including the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

8.  Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
