Manager, Port Operations
GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT PERSON!!! Norwegian Cruise Line, one of the fastest growing cruise lines in the travel industry today, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Port Operations to join our Miami based team.
Basic Purpose
Provide day-to-day assistance to Vice President Port Operations in the task of port operations worldwide for all vessels which will include contact with all port agents. Also to include planning for the vessels? calls in a most efficient and economic revenue
Position Responsibilities
? Visit active ports of call to inspect facilities.
? Survey new ports when requested.
? Coordinate with port agents.
? Provide support to the vessels regarding port formalities and clearance procedures.
? Must work closely with Port Authorities, Stevedores, Customs, Immigration, and Agriculture.
? Support Port Operations in budget preparation.
? Obtain port charges Proforma from all ports.
? Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
? Perform other job related functions as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge: Customs, Immigration and Department of Agriculture (Quarantine) requirements. General knowledge of stevedoring operations, including luggage handling and supply loading.
Experience: Cruise ship operations experience, including Customs and Immigration requirements knowledge.
Skills: Experience as Embarkation & Clearance Officer on board cruise ships, including U.S. Immigration, U.S. Customs, USDA laws concerning enter and clearance of cruise ships.
