Microtel Regional Franchise Services Manager

Job Summary: This West Coast based position provides corporate support for the Microtel Inns & Suites brand. This includes assisting hotels from the time they break ground through the term of the license agreement. The position requires hotel experience and the ability to assist an owner or Management team with operational questions as well as Marketing assistance through effective communication. Marketing can range from local marketing, co-op marketing or Internet marketing. Open hotel support requires knowledge of the Microtel brand standards, programs and policies and the ability to answer the questions that may arise from an owner or on site personnel. On-going communication with owners, general manger?s, directors of sales and other hotel personnel as well as Microtel corporate office staff is a major focus of this position.

This position also includes traveling to under construction Microtel hotel sites and assisting in the opening process. The opening process can include up to four (4) weeks of assisting in the set-up of the hotel, training management team and employees in all phases of hotel operations. Working with FF&E vendors, General Contractors, and other construction sub-contractors to assist in opening the hotel is required. This position will also perform inspections to determine capital replacement needs in existing hotels. Other types of hotel visits may also be required as well as working some weekends.

This position requires initiative, perseverance, analytical and organizational skills. In addition, project management skills are a must. Candidate must possess excellent attention to detail, be deadline-oriented, be able to multitask, and be very accurate and organized. Ability to shift priorities as needed and respond well under pressure/deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude, not afraid of challenges, change or growth. Top candidates will have an energetic and vivacious personality.



Minimum 5+ year?s hotel experience in management, operations and/or sales. This position will be based in a home office environment; however extensive travel is required and while traveling this position is required to be completely proficient at working from hotels, airports/airplanes, remote offices and or locations. Approximately 80% travel required per year. This position requires the ability to book air travel, rent cars and requires the candidate to have a valid driver?s license with a good driving record. In addition, the candidate must have a good credit history in order to qualify for a Corporate American Express credit card



Computer Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer and revenue/reservation systems, preferably with Ramesys/Imaginn or MSI.



Education: High school degree required; college preferred.
