Senior Construction Manager - Morganton, NC

The Senior Construction Manager’s (SCM) primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive project management to a large complex project, or to multiple projects.  This individual is highly skilled in all aspects of project management services and is expected to be able to lead a project of any size and complexity.  The Sr. Construction Manager should be capable of serving as the ‘point person’ in any new engagement or join a project management team at an existing account, and should be able to work independently with limited support and oversight from the Regional Director. 



The ideal candidate should possess the following characteristics and/or have significant experience in the following:
Minimum of 10 – 12 years of demonstrated, increased responsibility in providing leadership for a capital construction program and construction contract administration.
Significant experience in a healthcare environment.
Excellent presentation and communication skills to executive leadership, client constituencies, governing boards, consultant and construction personnel.  Team building proficiency.
Ability to prioritize tasks and multiple responsibilities in order to provide a high level of client service.
Demonstrated experience in the preparation of comprehensive project budgets and extensive knowledge of project financial monitoring, tracking and reporting.
Ability to produce concise, well written status reports for delivery to the client’s executive leadership.
Experience with the requirements of and implementation of JCAHO, ICRA & ISLM protocols and procedures in a healthcare environment.
Working knowledge of Building Codes, Life Safety Codes & ADA standards.
Experience in professional consultant contract administration including architects, engineers, healthcare planners and healthcare equipment planners.
Experience in leading projects through the regulatory and approval process including the Department of Public Health, zoning boards, building inspectors, fire marshals and other state and local authorities having jurisdiction as well as coordination of project close-out.
Experience in healthcare planning and scenario development is desirable.
Experience in the selection of contractors and/or construction management firms, contracting arrangements and construction oversight responsibilities.
Healthcare planning and scenario development experience is desirable.
Formal education in architecture, planning, engineering or a construction-related program is highly desirable.
Membership in ASHE and a holder of their Healthcare Construction Certificate is desirable.
