Travel Counselor I - Consumer Travel TINS

Responsible for providing travel services for American Express Cardmembers. Travel Counselors are responsible for providing quality service, timely and accurate completion of travel arrangements and the sale of value added services. Assisting the Cardmember with all travel needs including international and domestic reservations is a primary responsibility. The candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to perform in a team environment. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts as determined by customer call volumes and business needs.

Minimum 3+ years selling experience in all areas of travel. SABRE computer reservations experience preferred. Extensive domestic and international destination knowledge required. Ability to work under pressure coupled with an orientation for quality sales. Exceptional customer service skills are a must. This position requires decisive and successful problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use the Internet effectively to service customer needs. The ability to work flexible shifts essential. Knowledge of Tour & Cruise products a plus.
