Accounting Clerk

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a ACCOUNTING CLERK in our JERICHO, NY office.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform basic accounting functions to support client payment process.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1-2 years in an office environment

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, strong computer system skills
2. Detail oriented / strong analytical skills, must be good with numbers.
3. Dependable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Ability to interact and communicate with multiple departments.
5. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
6. Must be well-organized with the ability to focus on the details.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare large volume claims checks runs (approx. 3000 per week).
2. Prepare and issue daily operating checks.
3. Review and prepare outside party invoices for payment.
4. Process voids and stop payment on checks.
5. File all associated documents accordingly.
6. Research problem checks.
7. Responsible for Petty Cash.
8. Participate in special projects upon request.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
HS Diploma
