Associate Human Resources - Temecula

The Associate Human Resources Manager position is a developmental opportunity that could lead to a position as a Human Resources Manager in an 18 month timeframe.  The emphasis is to hire someone with proven Human Resources Manager skills and teach them about Milgard and our business.  The four essential components a successful Associate HR Manager must learn are: Milgard?s pace; Milgard Performance System; Philosophy; and affinity for people development. During the eighteen-month timeframe, the Associate HR Manager may fill any number of job roles.  Here in Tacoma at our Corporate Campus, we have six different locations within which the Associate HR Manager can hone his/her skills to prepare for possible future Management opportunities.  We will employ a rotational program so as to expose the Associate HRM to as many opportunities and learning experiences within the six different Milgard Human Resources offices as possible.  An 18-month developmental plan will be developed to ensure the Associate HR Manager has the opportunity to develop the skills and attributes needed to be successful at Milgard.  Upon successful completion of training, the Associate HR Manager may be placed at a location.  Flexibility to relocate is preferred.

 

Following is a summary of Milgard's Human Resources Managers area of responsibilities:

 

HR MANAGER KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Assists with the integration and consistent application of Human Resources (HR) activities (i.e. employment, compensation, MPS, benefits, training, payroll, employee relations and safety).

? Assists in strategic planning to the location leadership team; anticipates future consequences and trends and communicates them effectively.

? Administers the HR function with a whole-system perspective; effectively addresses issues and challenges; manages the HR function as a system.

? Responsible for benefit plan communication and enrollment including the standard benefits package and retirement plans.

? Develops annual Affirmative Action Plan, analyzes data and establishes goals.

? Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan; administers compensation program to ensure compliance and equity within location.

? Administer MPS program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within location (and corporate guidelines).

? Coordinates and communicates employee programs (i.e. employee of the quarter, service awards, MG/CAT, etc.)

? Consults counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.

? Writes and delivers presentations regarding human resources policies and procedures.

? Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

? Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the location.

? Tracks and coordinates all training in Company human resources policies and supervision/management training, including new-hire training programs (Orientation, MPS, etc.)

? Works with federal and state government (and corporate) on outstanding human resource issues.  Represents company at personnel related hearings or investigations and advise management of resolution.

? Prepares necessary documentation for employee onboarding, termination, resignation, etc.  Conducts exit interviews.

? Creates and executes MPS objectives, meeting MPS commitments and working within the guidelines of MPS; reflects Milgard business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions.

 

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:

? Supervises Human Resources Department.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

?5+  years human resources management experience; manufacturing or related field preferred.

 

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:Bachelor?s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required; or equivalent additional education or experience.
