Benefits Analyst

Job Description:
Hasbro (NYSE: HAS) is a worldwide leader in children's and family leisure time entertainment products and services, including the design, manufacture and marketing of games and toys ranging from traditional to high-tech.

We are currently seeking a Benefits Analyst to join the Corporate HR team.


Job Function

Using various databases (SAP, retiree, COBRA, LTD), create monthly ASO statements used to pay medical, dental, vision and EAP administrators. Using the same databases create monthly life and disability insurance premium statements. Reconcile and process premiums statements for insured programs and outsourced administrative services like COBRA, FSA and retiree billing. Review weekly claims data from the TPAs, prepare funding requests, track trust receipts and disbursements, track all claims experience and administration expense. Identify and resolve discrepancies. Ensure that weekly interface files (medical, dental, vision, EAP, FSA, COBRA) were transmitted by IS as scheduled. Review weekly processing response files from each vendor to ensure that the interface files processed without error. Work with the vendors directly to research and resolve any discrepancies. Using vendor online systems process urgent enrollments or corrections, resolve discrepancies, process COBRA enrollments and order ID cards. Guide and assist HR staff, employees, COBRA participants and retirees with complex issues regarding health and welfare programs. Interface with the carriers and TPAs to resolve issues. Develop test scenarios and test the Open Enrollment website annually before the site goes live. In SAP test benefit plan configuration changes, rate changes, and inbound files from the Open Enrollment vendor. Coordinate manual open enrollment for retirees and COBRA participants. Maintain the Retiree Medical Database. Review regular download files from the government for issues and coordinate required changes with Pharmacy Benefit Manager and the retiree. Process all life insurance claims gathering data from beneficiaries, HR, and other sources as needed such as documents and summaries from acquired company plans to ensure that the payment reflects the appropriate benefit. Process applications for adoption/foster care assistance, verify expenses, obtain approvals. Coordinate the scholarship program, prepare communications, verify eligibility and coordinate funding. Perform Sarbanes Oxley testing at least twice per year. Research and respond to CMS claims for Medicare reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Guide HR staff, Cobra participants and employees with difficult benefits issues and interface with carriers and TPAs as necessary to resolve problems
- Retiree medical and life insurance administration - answer inquiries, process claims, reconcile payments
- Create monthly statements for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, EAP
- Reconcile and process premium statements for insured programs, COBRA and Flex administration
- Coordinate claims funding, reconcile claims data with the daily/weekly wires to carriers, track trust receipts and disbursements, track all claims and administration expense
- Provide guidance and respond to questions from the carriers, TPAs and HR personnel regarding plan administration, SPD interpretation, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate scholarship program - prepare and post communications, verify eligibility of new and renewal awards, and funding

Education, knowledge and experience required:

- Bachelors Degree
- 2+ years experience as H.R. or Benefits Assistant, or H.R. or Benefits Administrator
- Intermediate Access and Excel, also Word. PowerPoint and SAP experience a plus.


Skills required:

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Position requires a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Time management skills; must be able to plan, prioritize and organize work
- Knowledge of benefits policies and related government regulations
