The Position:  Benefits Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Benefits Coordinator will serve as the primary contact person for all benefits related issues for employee inquiries into benefit plans and claims issues; administer leaves of absence and disability claims. 

 

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for all benefits administration, including medical/dental/life insurance, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and FMLA/leave of absence.  Assists with coordination of annual benefit open enrollments.  Audits monthly premium invoices and resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company.  Fields employee questions related to benefits.  Acts as liaison with administrators and vendors.  Reviews plan documents, company intranet and other communications for accuracy and clarity.  Coordinates special projects as needed.

 

Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years benefits administration experience for (500+) company.  Knowledge of benefit legislation including IRS Section 125, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA and state leave rules.  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both oral and written combined with strong computer skills using MS Word, Power Point and Excel.  Highly developed planning and organizational skills required.
