POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the Director of Benefits, analyzes information regarding health and welfare benefits coverage, retirement benefits and all other benefit plans available to more than 13,000 AmerisourceBergen associates company-wide. Keeps up to date with current benefit trends and legislative requirements and programs and works to ensure both compliance and competitiveness. Has responsibility for working closely with the Compensation team to support a variety of projects, system enhancements, analytics and processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing plans, surveys, and other source of information; plans, develops, and / or participates in industry surveys; analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management.
2. Monitors benefit vendors regarding claims data, accounting structures and performance guarantees.
3. Prepares annual benefits budget to project the monthly benefit allocation charge; monitors and reconciles benefit accruals; provides analysis as required by the finance department and responds to auditor requests.
4. Provides benefits analysis and migration support for merger and acquisition activity.
5. Assists with the analysis and specifications for new plans or modifications to existing plans to a) maintain company?s competitive position in labor market, and b) promote uniform benefits package for all company locations, where possible.
6. Supports the analytical process during changes to AmerisourceBergen?s total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits and long term incentives.
7. Participates in salary surveys to obtain current data for job evaluations to ensure the Company?s competitiveness in the marketplace; compiles, analyzes and evaluates survey data.
8. Assists in the design of incentive programs by creating financial models illustrating return on investment scenarios in order to ensure incentive plans are effective and aligned with the business strategy.
9. Generates analytics prior to each merit increase cycle and prior to each fiscal year planning cycle for use by management to assist with compensation management decisions.
10. Supports all HIPAA and SOX compliance initiatives.
11. Performs other benefits and compensation-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor?s degree program. Requires a minimum of six (6) years experience in a Benefits and Compensation environment, preferably in a high-level analytical role or consulting capacity. Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
2. Understanding of the legal, tax and accounting principals governing benefits plans
3. Strong financial acumen
4. Strong consultative skills
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
6. Strong attention to detail
7. Strong mathematical skills
8. Strong interpersonal skills
9. Strong organizational skills
10. Ability to meet deadlines
11. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
