Business Development Manager (NY Office)

 

McKee Nelson LLP, a mid-sized law firm, seeks a Business Development Manager to provide day-to-day support of the office?s business development and marketing needs, and learn the Structured Finance practice and clients to become a key part of the New York Office support team. The Business Development Manager will be working closely with attorneys to carry out sales, marketing and business development initiatives and to keep projects and tasks moving quickly to completion. Candidate will work closely with the marketing department; gathering information needed to update and maintain marketing communications, including deal lists and case descriptions, website and collateral material, and will have primary responsibility for preparing RFPs and pitch materials for new or existing client presentations. The manager will work with the marketing department on all aspects of preparation for large industry conferences, such as ABS East and West, which may include traveling onsite to provide marketing support and handle logistics.  The manager will supervise the CRM Data Steward.

 

A Bachelor?s degree in marketing, communications or business, advanced degree a plus. Minimum of five years experience working in marketing or business development for law, accounting or financial services firm. Legal experience a plus.  Qualified candidate must possess and demonstrate excellent, effective writing and communications skills. Must demonstrate strong organizational project management skills, detail-oriented, able to follow through and complete tasks on tight deadlines with minimal supervision.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the flexibility to adjust and react to changing priorities and opportunities.  Must maintain a poised and professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively with senior partners, managers and clients.

 

Must have advanced technology skills; demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 2000 (Word, Power Point, Excel) and standard software used to produce presentations and proposals. Familiarity with CRM software or web-based database programs is desired.  Demonstrate intermediate skills with iManage (or other document management systems), Lotus Notes, Internet or similar programs.

 

Specific Responsibilities include: RFPs, presentations and pitch materials;Deal lists and client information;New York office marketing;  Data stewardship;Writing and editing;
