Compensation Analyst
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN

Participates in the planning, development and implementation of employee compensation programs. Analyzes and evaluates market benchmark information to provide competitive direct compensation and incentive pay systems for employees, including salary surveys, job structures, and merit budget development. Audits compensation programs for effectiveness.
Prepares, finalizes and audits job descriptions by reviewing job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements.
Determines salary grade assignment and exemption classification using the job evaluation process (e.g., job analysis, documentation and market data analysis).
Participate in third-party benchmark salary and pay practice surveys by compiling and submitting company data to obtain current market data.
Collects and analyzes competitive salary information by using compensation surveys.
Reviews proposed salary adjustments by gathering, assessing, and analyzing the data for conformance to established guidelines, policies, and practices.
Solves problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
Develops and revises company salary structures and merit program by analyzing market survey data (e.g., salaries and pay practices) and formulating detailed recommendations for changes.
Develops salary administration practices by researching survey data and recommending applicable policy changes.
Conducts special studies on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, stock options, etc. by researching and analyzing options for implementation.
Position Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Additional Information -Familiarity in working with and developing complex databases such as MS Access/MS Excel. -Previous Compensation experience helpful. Experience in understanding Guidant compensation philosophy a plus. Strong communication skills critical. Ability to analyze sales performance and compensation trends and directly report findings to Senior Management and Sales Management. Proven ability in project management to prioritize several high level projects. -People Soft experience preferred,Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. Position located in St. Paul.
