Compensation Analyst Part-Time

The Office of Human Resources and Staff Development is looking for a part-time (30 hrs per week) Compensation Assistant.  The position will be responsible for providing administrative support and performing mid-level compensation analysis for the Executive Director of Compensation and Staffing.  In this capacity, the position answers the telephone and responds to inquiries regarding compensation in compliance with collective bargaining agreements and Board policies and procedures; analyzes compensation on special assignments and full-time hire documents for accuracy and compliance with established compensation rules; responds to salary surveys under the direction of the supervisor; responds to inquiries regarding job descriptions; and develops job descriptions based on documentation provided.  The position also prepares correspondence to finalize personnel Board transactions; maintains electronic and manual files; creates and maintains spreadsheets documenting transactions received and processed; updates Compensation and Pay Plan Booklet; and performs related duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resources with previous experience in Human Resources.  Good analytical and problem solving skills.  Extensive experience utilizing Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Word (mail merge).  Familiarity with creating reports with tables and charts using statistical data.  Ability to conduct research for salary surveys, job descriptions, and compensation.  Ability to interpret contracts and serve as a liaison or representative of the District Office.  Good proofreading or editing skills.  Good organizational and multitasking skills.
