Due to company growth we are seeking to add a Director of Compensation to our Human Resources team!

 

This is a great opportunity to join a fast paced, high growth retail organization. As a member of the senior HR leadership team, this position will have enormous opportunity to influence the HR strategic direction of a Fortune 500 company. This newly created position will be based at our Home Office in Richmond, Virginia and will lead the efforts of the HR Compensation and Analytics team, which include Compensation strategy, HR strategy analytics and general HR projects.

 

The Director of Compensation will interact with senior executives on key initiatives as well as be the point person for the development and administration of compensation strategy. The ideal candidate will bring experience with best practices from other top companies and should be viewed as a senior HR business partner and consultant.

 

Background and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 10-15+ years HR experience with focus on compensation strategy and HR analytics.
Proficiency with project management as it relates to HR initiatives.
Experience developing, implementing and administering complex compensation systems and processes.
Experience managing analysts.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the development, implementation and administration of compensation systems and processes.
Manage a group of HR strategy analysts who support the overall CarMax business.
Manage the administration of annual merit review, short-term and long-term incentive programs.
Initiate and drive the completion of key HR strategic initiatives and projects.
Act as senior member of HR and provide key thought leadership to the overall management team.

 

Secondary:
Help set analytical direction to support key HR initiatives in the business.
Participate in various task force committees related to Sarbanes-Oxley and other HR initiatives.

 

Job Specifications:
Limited travel. Occasional trips to store locations and vendor conferences.
