Corporate Recruiter - Human Resources

The first Family Dollar store was opened in Charlotte, NC in 1959. It was a relatively small, self-service operation located in a neighborhood convenient to low and middle income consumers. The merchandise assortment featured basic goods for family and home needs, and the no frills, low overhead, cash-and-carry environment provided good value at the lowest price points. As new stores opened in the early years of the Company's existence, it became clear that this merchandising concept filled a niche in the marketplace and held great promise for supporting a chain of much larger size.

The Corporate Human Resources Department has an immediate need for a professional individual to provide staffing support in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This Recruiter will be a part of the team responsible for the recruiting of clerical, administrative, professional, and management professional positions for the Corporate Office. The recruiting team interacts with all supervisors and managers to meet all departmental regular and temporary staffing needs. Responsibilities will include recruiting through networking, attending job fairs, internet sourcing, and referrals; interviewing and conducting appropriate testing and pre-employment screening; conducting new hire orientations; and statistical tracking of recruiting methods and results.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline and 4 years professional recruiting experience required. Individual must have strong knowledge of employment laws, including EEO and ADA. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. Position requires excellent PC skills; proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet preferred. Experience with Taleo a plus.
