The Director, Recruiting & Workforce Planning, located in Stamford, CT, will design and implement global best in class workforce planning and recruitment programs for Thomson Corporation.Provide strategic leadership and consultation, quality oversight of workforce development and recruitment strategiesResponsible for developing and implementing Thomson?s workforce planning and campus recruiting programsSupport key workforce strategies for internal and external pipeline development, targeted workforce development programs and identify opportunities for improvement related to recruitment and retention strategiesCreate innovative data driven recruitment, selection, and retention capabilities in support of the company?s people strategy and key initiativesIdentify and monitor approved Thomson-wide recruiting related vendor relationshipsProvide strategic leadership, vision and direction for the continued evolution of Thomson?s online employment web sites ? Thomson Careers Public web site, Thomson Careers Internal web site, Thomson Careers Recruiter?s web site, Thomson Careers Alumni web siteProvide strategic leadership, vision and direction for Thomson?s global applicant tracking systemCapitalize on efficiencies of technology and global labor sourcingProvide strategic direction to Thomson?s MBA-level rotational and undergraduate programsResponsible for Thomson?s MBA-level rotational program. Provide strategic direction, direct management and recruitment activities for the Program. Manage the rotation identification and placement process and career development process for all full-time and summer associates; on average manage 35-40 associatesSupport Recruiting and Workforce Planning Account Directors on the implementation of workforce development, recruitment strategies, reporting/metrics and internal and external best practicesCommunicate progress to management; coordinate formal and ad-hoc reporting regarding workforce development progress, recruiting strategies progress and internal and external best practices progressConduct periodic benchmarking of workforce planning and recruiting internal and external best practicesAct as a liaison to the Diversity, Learning & Development and Talent Management Centers of ExcellenceTeam effectively with peers in other functions, leverage tools, resources, thought leadership of Recruiting & Workforce Planning Center of ExcellencePlan and manage annual budget
Qualifications
? Fifteen years total experience in recruiting, human resources and general management
? Excellent project management skills and people management skills are required
? Strong understanding of change management requirements
? Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and develop and implement large, complex strategic programs
? Effective in problem solving crossing organizational and geographic lines
? Strong interpersonal and relationship development/management skills in order to lead, influence and interact with individuals at all levels of the company
? Ability to effectively work in various capacities including leadership and peer collaboration, consulting, data analysis, and implementation of new conceptual designs or innovations
? Strong analytical thinking skills and ability to develop and track metrics
? Excellent knowledge in all full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, legal, job analysis, wage and salary trends, relationship management and due diligence
? Experience with selection and assessment methodologies, strong personal computing skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Internet recruiting experience
? Experience with creating and managing vendor and internal Service Level Agreements
? Web site design and systems integration experience required
? Global perspective and sensitivity to international recruiting practices
? Strong business acumen
? Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
