Director of Benefits and Compensation
Job Overview: This position is responsible for the design, development, and administration of Corporate Benefit programs as well as executive compensation programs.Benefit programs include health and welfare, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, employee assistance, leave of absence, HR service providers, and Benefit systems, record keeping, and communications.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Designs and develops comprehensive Benefit programs and services, consistent with strategy supporting Company objectives and state and federal regulations
Presents recommendations and leads planning efforts to inform leadership of cost trends, budgets, plan design trends, service and other issues.
Manage vendors by working directly with broker, plan administrators and carriers to address issues and results
Provide analysis to improve Benefits portfolio breadth and cost; incorporates analysis into action plans to address gaps or inefficiencies. Analysis can include industry data and trends, as well as feedback from teammates and other HR functions.
Develops, implements and oversees procedures and guidance to address benefit administration and claim issues. Provides direction and advice regarding resolution of benefit issues and inquiries
Support administration and analysis of executive compensation practices and programs including tracking, reporting and managing payout allocations
Coordinate with HRIS and Payroll to ensure timely and accurate position and employee information is maintained within the HRIS and Payroll systems.
Participates in Compensation and Benefit surveys to benchmark best practices
Minimum requirements include:
Ten years of benefits experience, including three to five years leading the design and development of benefit plans and programs, including
? Knowledge and experience with the health and dental insurance field, with specific experience in self-funded plans, COBRA regulations, HIPAA and FMLA administration
? Knowledge and experience in pension and retirement plans
? Experience in establishing benefits strategy and corresponding tactical execution
? Experience in working closely with executive management to review results and address strategic actions
? Experience with working with a variety of benefit service vendors and suppliers
? Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
? Effective communication skills
? Effective presentation skills
? Management experience
