Director of Diversity and Corporate EEO Officer

Objective:To insure that Granite has programs that will attract and retain a diverse workforce that will provide a competitive advantage for the company in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures.

Essential
Functions:Develop and implement a program that will enhance diversity in the workforce to support the strategic growth of the company.
Work as an active member of the management team to assure, through continuous monitoring and evaluation, that the EEO program has a pro-active management orientation, while meeting all legal and regulatory requirements.
Develop training to educate and provide guidance to employees and managers on how to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with key colleges, universities, organizations and associations to create a more diverse hiring pool.
Administer Granite?s affirmative action program, oversee and analyze company-wide EEO reporting, records and logs to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
Develop, modify and maintain employment practices to support regulatory and business requirements.
Manage all responses to calls to the Compliance Helpline.
Supervise, and when needed conduct, investigations of complaints in response to employee accusations in a timely manner and provide detailed and meaningful documentation and feedback to relevant parties in an effort to maintain a positive work environment.
Manage and administer Granite?s Employee Dispute Resolution Program.
Manage the workflow and performance of the EEO Analyst.
Other responsibilities as directed.
Required
Experience:Minimum 10 years human resources experience, with a minimum 5 years in the field of EEO compliance and/or diversity desired.
Bachelor?s degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
SPHR Certification desired.
Required Skills
& Knowledge:Current knowledge about regulations and laws related to employment and employee relations, including EEO, ADA, FLSA, and FMLA.Ability to set strategic direction.
Ability to influence others.
Program design skills.
Skill in designing effective evaluation techniques to ensure compliance of EEO contractual provisions.
Change management skills.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Strong management, organization, communication, and dispute resolution skills in dealing with employee relation issues.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.
Ability to develop relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
Computer proficiency with MS Office.
