Director of Learning & Development

Orbitz L&D Director Requirements, Travelport Inc.

 

Orbitz Worlwide, the consumer travel division of Travelport,  seeks an L&D professional with a proven track record of developing, driving and delivering focused L&D strategies and programs that are action oriented, pragmatic, and impactful --  while ensuring buy in and support from line managers, division HR business partners, and corporate/shared services knowledge experts.

 

A successful candidate must have the ability to consult with and influence key business leaders with regard to the development of the talent pipeline (needs assessments and execution of  programs that provide ROI and support business goals).  Emphasis will be on full life-cycle project management, execution with know-how, willingness, and pro-activeness  to ascertain needs, design and facilitate trainings, and other OD interventions, that are linked to the business strategy.  Responsible for the development and achievement of an overall organizational learning and development strategy and program which supports the Division?s and aligns with our corporate strategy, HR strategy, processes and procedures.

? Conduct learning and development needs analyses. Facilitate/instruct learning experiences and training sessions. Develop and manage program materials, logistics, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials.

? Develop, deploy and measure learning and development interventions which many include coaching/mentoring, action learning, driving talent management processes and formal training programs. Plan, develop and implement the requisite communication and marketing vehicles, key messages and management tools for said learning and development programs.

? Coordinate leadership development architecture globally to develop high potential employees and to secure a pipeline of future company leaders. Create and drive best practice individual development planning processes. Leverage relationships and source best in class external leadership development content providers. In collaboration with corporate L&D, drive management development and leadership curriculum based on established core competencies with linkages to career development and advancement.

? Develop and track metrics to evaluate learning and development effectiveness as measured against key business goals. Assess learning and development programs including evaluating instructor performance, knowledge and skill improvement and performance improvement to drive overall organizational impact.

?  Assist in the design and support the rollout of performance based tools and processes such as position profiles, succession planning, feedback mechanisms and career roadmaps/paths.

? Implement and optimize performance management process, methodologies and technology within segment.

? Cross-industry background preferred with an emphasis in technology a plus

 

This position reports to the SVP, Human Resources for Orbitz Worldwide,  located downtown Chicago.  The position also has key matrixed reporting and accountability to the VP, L&D for Travelport located in NJ, and will be an important member of the global Travelport L&D community, participating in enterprise wide strategies and initiatives.
