EHSS Compliance Manager

As part of the Micron Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) corporate team at Micron, the Corporate EHSS Compliance Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the global EHSS Compliance programs and projects. This position provides input into company policies, practices and strategies related to Environment, Health, Safety, and Security compliance and the impacts on worker health and safety, company business, and communities in which we work.  Responsibilities will include: establishing corporate policies and procedures that provide direction for EHSS compliance programs; develop and implement minimum standards for global EHSS compliance consistent with the company’s EHSS policies; collaboration with legal and other internal stakeholders to maintain and communicate existing and emerging regulatory requirements, scientific and technical methods, and developments that have business and compliance impact; oversight of the due diligence process for property acquisitions and mergers, product take back programs related to regulatory requirements, and vendor selection and oversight of transport and disposal of waste. The compliance manager will be expected to work with all internal and external customers to cooperatively develop, implement, and maintain programs designed to leverage best practice and ensure communication and understanding between customer Environmental groups.  You will participate in the corporate team for input into the continuous improvement of the EHSS management systems; establish a system for monitoring and reporting EHSS compliance performance; partner with global site managers to anticipate business and community needs; and serve as a Micron representative with local government agencies, academic institutions, and industries; as well as provide representation in working groups or committees for corporate goals and technical programs. You will also incorporate compliance audits within the Management systems for routine and periodic compliance audit programs for both internal continuous improvement and external registrar reviews and take responsibility for monitoring non-conformities to facilitate resolution. You will serve as a technical resource to Micron’s global sites, and develop programs and services that benchmark best practice in the design and implementation of system solutions that support business needs and maintain environmental responsibility in the communities in which we work.

Successful candidates for this position will have:
Seven years progressive experience with program management, with a strong emphasis in the environmental field.
Experience in a manufacturing environment (highly desirable).
Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory landscape on a global scale (preferred).  A demonstrated ability to work with well with various disciplines within a manufacturing environment.
A solid track record of compliance management and leadership in establishing targets, performance monitoring, and execution of management systems.  
The ability to work effectively with external regulatory agencies, industry associations and coordination of activities within the EHSS global organization.
Global travel is an essential requirement of this position; frequency varies based on need.Education:A BS in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health Nursing, or related field is required. A  Masters Degree and certification is preferred.*06
